Specialist Developmental Practitioner

Long-term developmental mentoring and engagement for young people, working alongside families and clinical teams.

Sam Rhook

Rhook Development

My name is Sam and I work alongside children, adolescents, young adults and families through long-term developmental mentoring, consultation and collaborative practice.

My work focuses on strengthening identity, engagement, communication, responsibility, confidence and meaningful participation in life through consistent relationships across home, school and community environments.

I approach each engagement individually, taking into account the young person, their family and the professionals supporting them.

“Sam Rhook is a rare talent - a deeply compassionate, intuitive, and patient practitioner whose presence alone creates safety and connection. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing him do truly transformative work with youth, blending creativity, authenticity, and therapeutic skill in ways that few can. His ability to meet young people where they are, to draw out their voices through trust and creative expression, is both inspiring and profoundly effective. I would highly recommend Sam to any family or organization seeking a facilitator or mentor who brings genuine care, professionalism, and impact to his work.”

“One of the most impressive and meaningful parts of Sam’s approach is his ability to connect with young people where they are at; both through his open, approachable yet confident demeanour, but also his deep knowledge of youth culture.

The positive and strengths-based relationships Sam builds with his clients provide a solid foundation for his work, and by prioritising process rather than product his practice offers rich grounds for positive social development, self-esteem, and self-efficacy.

I would highly recommend Sam for both one-on-one work, and group programs, and believe he will bring enormous value to any engagement he undertakes.”

Sam works collaboratively within teams and is consistently hopeful, positive, and a trusted professional.”
